New Life Community Sri Lanka
In 2016, New Life Community Sri Lanka branched out from New Life Community Church (Singapore) and planted itself in Colombo.
This organisation looks out for the desperately poor and anyone seeking to break out of their own prisons. New Life Community Sri Lanka transforms remote communities by keeping family units together, building clean drinking water taps and proper sanitation. These villages in the northern regions of Sri Lanka are struggling to rebuild themselves after a 30 year war.
Having access to clean water impacts health, education and survival. Women and children often experience the impact of a lack of water, sanitation and hygiene more. The responsibility of collecting water often falls on women and children. Water and sanitation facilities closer to home reduces the risk of women and children being sexually assaulted and abducted while fetching water.
New Life Community Sri Lanka also reach out to groups of drug addicts in the Western Province where 75% of crime is drug related.
This is only part of the work New Life Sri Lanka does; give hope and a future to those who are hurting and sitting in prisons and addictions of their own. Your dollar helps New Life Community Sri Lanka to carry on reaching out to those who are desperately crying out for help.
'The Spirit of the Lord God is on me; because the Lord has appointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.' Isaiah 61:1, Luke 4:18
